God’s will is always the best.

Jesus refused the crown the Jews wanted him to wear and accepted the cross His Father wanted Him to bear.

Why should we forget the cross we must bear in order to get to the crown?

We must endure the cross the Father has for us in order to receive the crown He has waiting for us.
Once again, Isreal wanted Jesus to wear a crown and rule over them, but He accepted the cross instead. As a result, He rose from the grave three days later, and then forty days after that, He ascended to the Father’s right hand. He is still there today.
This was the Father’s will.
In John 6, after feeding the 5,000, Jesus sensed they were going to make him their ruler, so he withdrew to an area by himself.

Jesus spent a great deal of time in prayer for us. That our hearts and minds would change.

This is exactly what He is doing now for us.
Hebrews 7:25 ESV
Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
As we continue to look at this brief sermon from Tozer, he emphasized two “always” phrases.

The first - He always wanted the will of the Father in His life.

Mark 14:36 ESV
And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
There are two parts to this prayer.

Remove this cup from me.

The answer to this prayer would be no. Without the shedding of Christ’s blood, there wouldn’t have been forgiveness of our sins.

Submission to the will of God.

But not my will.
Jesus’ submission to God’s will instead of His own, led to the best for us.

God’s will is always best for each and everyone of us.

The problem is, many people don’t know God’s will for their lives because they aren’t versed in Scripture.
People also don’t like the restrictions that being in the will of God may place on their lives.
A lot of these responses have to do with our maturity in our Christian walk.

Second - He always lives to make intercession for us.

Again Heb 7:25
Hebrews 7:25 ESV
Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

Jesus is praying for us.

General prayers
For us to be holy and follow his leadership and guidance for us.
He is also praying for us
Romans 12:2 ESV
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Without the constant renewing of the mind, we can’t know the will of God.
He prays for us to abide in Him.
He wants us to bear fruit.
We also know He is praying that the Father would protect us from the evil one.
He also has specific prayers for each one of us as well.
Luke 22:31–32 ESV
“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”
Jesus told Peter he was praying specific things for him.
He knew Peter was going to fail.
This particular prayer should bring comfort to us as believers since we know we are going to fail as well.

Be encouraged since our Savior is always making intercession for us
