17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls.
Prayer
Jesus we confess our sin before you this morning. We confess our selfishness in pursuing our own kingdom apart from your own and even sometimes in spite of yours. Change our hearts oh God, reveal and renew our minds by your Word and your Spirit. Give us mercy and grace to realize and repent from where we find ourselves in this message today. We praise you for your Word of truth sanctify us by your truth…

Message

V1-7

Those who stand with the true king in hardship will enter with the king into glory
Those who extend honor to them will honor be extended .

V8-11

Those who exalt themselves in the end receive only ruin.
Some victories God gives are only won by patience.

V12-16; 26

When we pit ourselves against one another no one really wins.

V17-23

Regardless of our own personal prowess, when we scoff at wisdom we put ourselves in serious danger.
God has given us reminders in His word for good an ill, will you take notice?

V24-32

One day the trumpet will sound, the battle will cease, and the true king will be counted the victor!
The key to unity in our church, in our home, and even in our nation, is to earnestly seek God's Will and then do it even if it means putting off our own personal gain.
