What makes a hero?
Heroes is defined has this.
a person noted for courageous acts or nobility of character: He became a local hero when he saved the drowning child.
a person who, in the opinion of others, has special achievements, abilities, or personal qualities and is regarded as a role model or ideal: My older sister is my hero. Entrepreneurs are our modern heroes.
the principal male character in a story, play, film, etc.
A great somewhat modern here is Babe Ruth. If you do not know who Babe ruth is. He was an amazing baseball play in the 1920 era of baseball and set many records.
As the Babe walked off the field after the third out and headed toward the dugout, a crescendo of yelling and booing reached his ears. Just then a boy jumped over the railing onto the playing field. With tears streaming down his face, he threw his arms around the legs of his hero. Ruth didn’t hesitate for one second. He picked up the boy, hugged him, and set him down on his feet, patting his head gently. The noise from the stands came to an abrupt halt.
Suddenly there was no more booing. In fact, hush fell over the entire park. In those brief moments, the fans saw two heroes: Ruth, who in spite of his dismal day on the field could still care about a little boy; and the small lad, who cared about the feelings of another human being. Both had melted the hearts of the crowd.

We see what make a hero but what makes a biblical hero?
What makes up a biblical hero?
They follow God
They walked with God
They allow God to move in there life
They are all just humans
They all at some point in their life sinned
They all have faith in God and his plans
Those are just some of the things that make up a biblical hero. We will be adding to that list has be go on. We will also be expanding on some of the thing on this list. By the end of this study my hope is that you will see that God can us anyone to be his beacon his light, His hero.
We are going to look at a man that is not mentioned much in the Bible. In fact he is only mentioned twice once here in Genesis and the other in Hebrews.
Join me has I read in Genesis 5:21
Genesis 5:21–24 CSB
Enoch was 65 years old when he fathered Methuselah. And after he fathered Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and fathered other sons and daughters. So Enoch’s life lasted 365 years. Enoch walked with God; then he was not there because God took him.

Enoch

Was the seventh generation for Adam. There is a book that is was written called the 1 Enoch which go over all of Enoch life. Which he talks about the world flooding. Enoch was a man after God he tried his best to follow God and to follow what God was telling him to do.
Enoch be became an important person to the Jewish people for a couple of reason. One being that he lived for 365 which go with the calendar year. Also the fact that.
Enoch walked with God
This phrase walked with God is use twice here too in talking about Enoch.
Have you every tried to walk with someone down a path or road? Sometime its hard. You have to be in agreement in the direction your going. You have to agree at the same walking speed.
How did Enoch walk with God?
he had faith in God. He allowed God to lead him.
Enoch at this time was one of the shortest life that they were living. Some of the others had Long life of 800 to 900 years. Wow is that a long time to live. Enoch only lived for 365 years. Why so short. It was not because he did something wrong. It was not because he was a bad person. It’s because Enoch was taken away by God.
Genesis 5:24 CSB
Enoch walked with God; then he was not there because God took him.
Enoch was taken away
most all of the other people in the line ends with Then he died. while Enoch here end with God took him.
This phrase is not little used in the bible. This is suggesting that Enoch was take before he had a change to die. This only happens one other time in the bible. The language used is similar and that story is in 2 Kings where Elijah departure earth in God’s fiery chariots.
We also see this written the be book for Hebrews.
Hebrews 11:5 CSB
By faith Enoch was taken away, and so he did not experience death. He was not to be found because God took him away. For before he was taken away, he was approved as one who pleased God.
Enoch had faith
We have to have faith
Hebrews 11:6 CSB
Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
We have to walk with God
Do you have faith in God?
