the subject of Gods disciple is so neglected to forgotten that for many they think that it is out of his character
we know we are saved completely by god for god alone that it has nothing to do with our goodness or how much we do that it is soley a gift of god
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,
WE also know from scripture that Jesus has born the entire wrath of God for whosoever belives upon him and that it pleased God to crush His only son that you that I may be set free from the penalty of Sin
1 Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, And as a root out of a dry ground: He hath no form nor comeliness; And when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid as it were our faces from him; He was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows: Yet we did esteem him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one to his own way; And the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, Yet he opened not his mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: And who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living: For the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, And with the rich in his death; Because he had done no violence, Neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, He shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; For he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, And he shall divide the spoil with the strong; Because he hath poured out his soul unto death: And he was numbered with the transgressors; And he bare the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.
8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
We also know that there is no condemnation for those in christ
1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Some seem to think these truths are at odd with one another , they begin to believe that the bible contradicts itself
5 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. 6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.” 7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. 11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
God’s discipline is not a punishment for those in Christ
For Jesus has already endured the full wrath of God on our behave
Gods Punishment is meant for our good
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
His disciple shows his deep love for his children
its a token of his adoption of us as his sons as his daughters
He loves you too much to allow you to remain in sin
He loves you too much to allow you to continue to do the things you take pleasure in
He loves you too much that he saves you that he disciplines you in spite of yourself Now that is a True Love a powerful love a love worth clinging to.
He loves you so much he is willing to do whatever it takes WHATEVER it TAKES! to make you holy to conform you into the image of his son
Sometimes the medicine is bad its awful that that doesn't change the fact that the physician knows whats best for you and even in rehab hurt even if its painful its the only thing that will make you whole again
Same Goes for how God disciplines his children many times we find it uncomfortable down right hard even painful but He unltimitly knows what medicine is needed to make you holy to make you sanctified to make you whole again
God ultimately allows or is the cause of our trials that stretch our faith so that we will grow in maturity with him as Christians God uses such trials to test us he uses them as correction to conform us to his image therefore its wise to examine oneself and repent from any known sins
16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
WE are to remain Joyful knowing that even when God disciples us he does it for our own Good
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
