The genre method discusses rules that are specific to a specific type of Biblical literature. For example, you would approach Matthew’s gospel quite differently than you would the book of Revelation.
Organizing by principles or tools looks at bible study from a more general, foundational, perspective that allows the learner to construct a general perspective on Biblical application that usually applies across all of Scripture.
