HOOK

Yesterday right here at “The Message” we covered the first part of the narrative about the grief of the Lord’s disciples that was turned into joy
From that we learned the following principles:
JESUS WILL TURN MY GRIEF INTO JOY
NO ONE WILL TAKE AWAY MY JOY
GOD ANSWERS MY PRAYERS AND IT MAKES MY JOY COMPLETE
Today we’re going to finish this section and you know what? It will bring us to the completion of chapter 16— that means that tomorrow, we will begin with chapter 17
Open your Bible to JOHN 16:25-33, once you get there, type Amen!
CHARACTER, COMMAND, PROMISES, CONVICTIONS, EXAMPLES, CHALLENGES AND ENCOURAGEMENT
Read JOHN 16:25-33

BOOK

John 16:25–33 NIV
25 “Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. 26 In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27 No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. 28 I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” 29 Then Jesus’ disciples said, “Now you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech. 30 Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.” 31 “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. 32 “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me. 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Still part of the Lord’s farewell discourse

LOOK

WE CAN SEE THAT YOU KNOW ALL THINGS
Remember I always remind you too look for words that describes the character of God?— here’s one of them
The one word we use to describe our God as all-knowing is the word “OMNISCIENT”
Omniscience means God’s infinite knowledge understanding of things past, present and future [Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible]
The state of all knowing, which theology ascribes to God [Holman Bible Dictionary]
Let me lead you to some verses that supports this description of God— [JOB 37:16, MATTHEW 6:8, PSALM 147:4-5]
DO YOU NOW BELIEVE?
The fundamental point in the message of Jesus is that, people must choose to believe in him
YOU WILL BE SCATTERED EACH TO YOUR OWN HOME
Jesus referred to the disciples, when Jesus is persecuted and suffers, they will not stick to him— but we also experience this now with Covid-19
I HAVE TOLD YOU THESE THINGS, SO THAT IN ME YOU MAY HAVE PEACE
Jesus wants his disciples to understand that they can be at peace when He suffers and dies
It is the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit to grant peace to believers— JOHN 14:27
IN THIS WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE, BUT TAKE HEART!
It was not promised to us Christians that we will be problem or trouble-free
But Take heart— be courageous! Stand firm!— because our Lord Jesus have overcome the world
I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD
Jesus has overcome the powers of darkness through his death and resurrection
He proclaims this now because he has already healed people and driven out demons
He is able to overpower what people consider unmovable forces
He was confident in his prophetic proclamation that He will rise again

TOOK

MY GOD KNOWS EVERYTHING [OMNISCIENT GOD]
I WILL STAND FIRM IN THE MIDST OF MY TROUBLES
MY LORD OVERCOME THE WORLD AND HE IS FIGHTING MY BATTLES FOR ME
