HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KUYA JR [show photos]
Yesterday right here at “The Message” we started with chapter 17— in this chapter are purely prayers by the Lord Jesus
First, He prayed for Himself to be glorified— and from that part of the Lord’s prayers, we learned the following:
THE COMPLETION OF THE LORD’S WORK HAPPENED AT CRUCIFIXION
MY LORD’S GLORIFICATION TOOK PLACE AT HIS RESURRECTION
As we continue today with the Lord’s prayer before he was arrested— we will take a look at the part of his prayer for his disciples
Open your Bible to JOHN 17:6-19, once you get there, type Amen!

6 “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. 13 “I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

I HAVE REVEALED YOU TO THOSE WHOM YOU GAVE ME
Revelation— unmasking of the Father through the Sons [JOHN 1:18]
It is worthy to note that Jesus revealed the Father “to those whom you gave me”— not to everyone!
And it is equally important to note that Jesus prayed for those who are given to him by the Father and not for the world
I PRAY FOR THEM. I AM NOT PRAYING FOR THE WORLD [Kosmos]
Why would Jesus say that?
First, Jesus revealed the Father to the chosen ones and not to the world, and then he prayed not for the world, but for the chosen ones— What does this mean?
It could be because the world is against God— [JAMES 4:4]
The love of the Father is not in the world [kosmos]— people associated with a world system and estranged [separated] from God— 1 JOHN 2:15-16
SO THAT THEY MAY BE ONE AS WE ARE ONE
The purpose of this Lord’s prayer is for his disciples to remain united
I PROTECTED THEM AND KEPT THEM SAFE BY THAT NAME YOU GAVE ME
Jesus was their, and our protector
Jesus said, none of them was lost except for one so that the scripture would be fulfilled— he was referring to Judas— [MATTHEW 26:23-25]
THE WORLD HAS HATED THEM, FOR THEY ARE NOT OF THE WORLD ANYMORE
Event to this day we are experiencing this hate— recently the Chinese Communist Government President Xi Jinping ordered the Chinese Christians to renounce their faith or suffer the consequences of not getting government subsidies— [JOHN 15:19]
We are not of this world [kosmos— world order]— we are sojourners— is a person who resides temporarily in a place
SANCTIFY THEM BY THE TRUTH, YOUR WORD IS TRUTH
Sanctify mean: set apart as or declare holy; consecrate
The Word is sanctifies us— let me show you the correlation of the Word and the Holy Spirit— [EPHESIANS 6:17]
And recently we learned that one of the works of the Holy Spirit is Sanctification of the believers
