Characteristics of a Faithful Servant

Faithful Service 2 Chronicles 17-21:3 Live as a Steward As stewards we care to carry out only the King's agenda. 17:3-6 tells us Jehoshaphat sought God and pushed away the idols. Jehoshaphat sought to advance God's agenda through teaching (17:7-9, 19:4). His rule made is clear who the real King was. Steady Faith (ch 20:1-30) In an alarming situation, Jehoshaphat turns to God (vs3). They pray in faith (vs6-12) and act in faith (19-21). When we take a stand in faith, God will show up (vs22-24) God wins this victory and also gives them peace (vs29-30). Imperfect Jehoshaphat had a problem with his alliances (18:1, 20:35/19:2-3, 20:37). This was inexcusable sin, yet there was also grace (20:32). We need to remember these truths of sin and grace for ourselves and for each other.
