Remembering who God Is Life/Death When faced with a life or death question, Ahaziah turned to an idol. Life and death are matters that only God can control. Ahaziah's rejection of God meant a wasted life and worse eternity (Hebrews 9:27). We must look to God alone to experience true life. God is your master Elijah knew he was dealing with the Lord and yet issued a demand (vs8-9). In verse 10 God showed Ahaziah that He was truly in control. To stand against God's power is to be crushed by it. Vs13-14 remind us that humility is the only true response. Personal Responsibility Ahaziah made his own choice to be sinful (1 Kings 22:52). Each person faces judgment for their own sin (Ezekiel 18:4). The power of Jesus to save is greater than any hold the sin of a family/generation can have No matter what your background, you need Jesus, and He will save.
