Tell That Fox
31 The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
At the beginning of chapter 13, we find Jesus being told of some Galileans who had been killed and their blood mixed with their sacrifices… Pilate - the Roman Governor of Judea, had been responsible and it will be him, who will later be the one to order and sanction the Crucifixion of Christ
A little later in the chapter, it is the pharisees that come to tell him to get out, because Herod (governor of Galilee) will kill him...
Isn’t it amazing why people who are doing good would be in the cross hairs of those in authority...
lawful, honest, good & productive citizens of society - yet - hated for the light that they stand true to…
Truth is exclusive -
Truth is not looking for a cause to join up with - Truth is it’s own cause -
we look around - people are looking for all kinds of causes...
Social justice
Racial Justice
women’s rights
Identity rights
Health rights
We just need what’s right- and TRUTH IS ALWAYS RIGHT...
(beware when you feel like you have to jump on a bandwagon - it will almost have a different destination than is promoted)
people don’t want absolutes - especially those who live in error - they want anything to go...
Jesus was warned about the possibility of danger - danger to his own life… and instead of responding in fear, we find an example of great strength...
This evening, I will take the statement of the Lord and use that as our title -
Tell That Fox
Tell That Fox
Pray;
Foxes in the scriptures are used in the negative - they are nuisances - They were likened to:
False Prophets - Ez 13.4
Burrowing - night predator and destructive
Herod - the deceitful ruler - was called a fox by the Savior...
It’s like being called a weasel…
no good
destructive
deceitful -
The Savior was confronted to conform to a threat of violence- Fear was the tool to change his behavior and to get him to do something different than following the Sovereign Plan of God...
Tonight, I want to say - along with the Savior -
Tell That Fox, that we are not getting sidetracked from the plan of God for:
His Church
His People
His Plan

Command
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
1 Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,
2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.
Commission
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:
Cause
1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
d. Courage, charge, call
4 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Judges are not always just, But the Judge of all ages is always just!!!
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, And make them joyful in my house of prayer: Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; For mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
As a church, we need prayer
As a christian - we need to pray
As a citizen - we see the need of prayer

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
1 O come, let us sing unto the Lord: Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, And make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
3 For the Lord is a great God, And a great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: The strength of the hills is his also.
5 The sea is his, and he made it: And his hands formed the dry land.
6 O come, let us worship and bow down: Let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
7 For he is our God; And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, And as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, Proved me, and saw my work.
10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, And said, It is a people that do err in their heart, And they have not known my ways:
11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath That they should not enter into my rest.
37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
I’m on the winning side...
