Synopsis of Bible Prophecy Part 2- 1 Thessalonians 3:13

The Bible teaches us over and over again that Jesus Christ is going to return to earth.

Paul made this very clear to the Thessalonians:
13 To the end [goal] that he may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

I. The coming of the Lord REFERS to two events on God’s prophetic calendar.

1. The coming of the Lord Jesus refers to the RAPTURE of the Church - 1 Thess. 4:15-17

2. The coming of the Lord refers to Christ’s Second coming - Matt. 26:64, Rev. 19:11-14

II. The REBIRTH of the Nation of Israel - Ezek. 37

We now come to our third point:

III. The REDEMPTION of the Jewish People - Romans 11

Romans 11:25–27 NKJV
25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; 27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.”
Verse 25
Paul did not want Gentile believers to be “ignorant” (aweg-no-a-oh, “to be uninformed about...” - BDAG.
Ignorant in regard to “the mystery.” What mystery? Keep reading.
When a believer is ignorant regarding “this mystery” Paul is about to reveal, he or she will become wise in their own opinion and reject the true doctrine of Israel’s salvation.
“Fullness of the Gentiles”
“Fullness” = pleroma, plair-oh-mawe, full number.
The “full number” of the Gentiles must “come in” or “to enter into an event or state” that God has ordained according to His own purpose and plan.
The “fullness of the Gentiles” means that every last Gentile that God has ordained to be “grafted into the olive tree” or Abrahamic Covenant by faith in Christ (“in you all the families of the earth will be blessed - Gen. 12:3/Acts 3:25-26) must be accounted.
When the last remaining Gentile is saved during this “church age”, the rapture of the church will occur, and God will once again turn His salvific attention back on Israel during the Tribulation Period.
Verse 26-27
The result, as we have read in Zechariah and Revelation, is that “all Israel will be saved as it is written in the book of Isaiah 59:20-21:
Isaiah 59:20–21 NKJV
20 “The Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” Says the Lord. 21 “As for Me,” says the Lord, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the Lord, “from this time and forevermore.”
During the Tribulation, God is going to save believing Israel; the citizens of the Nation of Israel will all be believers -
Ezekiel 20:39–44 NKJV
39 “As for you, O house of Israel,” thus says the Lord God: “Go, serve every one of you his idols—and hereafter—if you will not obey Me; but profane My holy name no more with your gifts and your idols. 40 For on My holy mountain, on the mountain height of Israel,” says the Lord God, “there all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, shall serve Me; there I will accept them, and there I will require your offerings and the firstfruits of your sacrifices, together with all your holy things. 41 I will accept you as a sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you before the Gentiles. 42 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for which I raised My hand in an oath to give to your fathers. 43 And there you shall remember your ways and all your doings with which you were defiled; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight because of all the evils that you have committed. 44 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have dealt with you for My name’s sake, not according to your wicked ways nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel,” says the Lord God.’ ”
All Israel will be saved!
Right now, as I speak, there is something significantly wonderful going on in Israel - Israeli Jews are coming to Messiah Yeshua!
This is significant because as more and more Jews seek the Lord the closer we are to the rapture of the church!

IV. The REALITY of the Day of the LORD

6 FACTS about the Day of the LORD
1. The 70th week of Daniel is the Day of the LORD and the Tribulation Period.
Daniel 9:24 NKJV
24 “Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.
“70 sevens” is what is meant by 70 weeks and equals 490 years when we multiply 70 x 7.
These 70 weeks pertain specifically to the Jewish nation Israel (“your people) and to Jerusalem (“your holy city”) while also to the all nations universally - Israel will be the world’s center of attention in all the events leading up to this time and during the entire Tribulation Period.
69 of the 70 weeks have been fulfilled which is equal to 483 years: 69 x 7 = 483.
On God’s prophetic calendar, there still remains the last week of Daniel’s prophecy.
Daniel 9:27 NKJV
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”
This last week yet to be fulfilled is the 70th week of Daniel.
2. The Tribulation Period is 7 years long, and it is the time on earth called the Day of the LORD.
At the risk of sounding repetitive, I clarify that the 70th week of Daniel is the last 7 years of God’s dealings with the nation of Israel specifically and the nations of the world universally.
There is one week left that is yet to be fulfilled.
Please understand, that the 70th week of Daniel is the Tribulation Period and the Day of the LORD.
How do we know that the 70th week of Daniel corresponds to the Day of the LORD?
Revelation 1:10 NKJV
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,
“I was in the Spirit on the LORD’S Day...” I believe that this statement is exactly as it denotes - the LORD’S Day or The Day of the LORD.
That phrase “The Day of the LORD” is used 26 times in 24 verses of our Bibles.
The Day of the LORD is described in the Bible as:
Isaiah 2:12 NKJV
12 For the day of the Lord of hosts Shall come upon everything proud and lofty, Upon everything lifted up— And it shall be brought low—
Isaiah 13:9 NKJV
9 Behold, the day of the Lord comes, Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, To lay the land desolate; And He will destroy its sinners from it.
Jeremiah 46:10 NKJV
10 For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts, A day of vengeance, That He may avenge Himself on His adversaries. The sword shall devour; It shall be satiated and made drunk with their blood; For the Lord God of hosts has a sacrifice In the north country by the River Euphrates.
Ezekiel 30:3 NKJV
3 For the day is near, Even the day of the Lord is near; It will be a day of clouds, the time of the Gentiles.
Amos 5:20 NKJV
20 Is not the day of the Lord darkness, and not light? Is it not very dark, with no brightness in it?
Obadiah 15 NKJV
15 “For the day of the Lord upon all the nations is near; As you have done, it shall be done to you; Your reprisal shall return upon your own head.
Zephaniah 1:14 NKJV
14 The great day of the Lord is near; It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; There the mighty men shall cry out.
Thank you for your kindness in attending our fellowship Bible study this evening.
May the Lord Jesus Christ fill you with His Spirit.
The hope we have of escaping the Tribulation and Hell is only found in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Here is what you must believe in oder to be saved from the wrath of God and eternal damnation in hell:
Romans 10:9–10 NKJV
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Believe the truth of Christ and you will be saved! There is hope in Christ.
God bless you.
