*/A Leader of Worship/*

What does it mean to be a worship leader?
It means most simply that you go first by worshipping the Lord and then other people follow.
It's not primarily about musicianship although we all enjoy surrendered talent.
ie - worship leader at Southeast

It's about your relationship with God and your relationship with people.
* If you worship once a week then God is a stranger and the degree of success that we have will be limited.
Frequency.
How does a person do this?
In whatever manner is most effective personally where truth and spirit are balanced.
* As God-consciousness increases, self-consciousness decreases.
During one of the last chapel services before Christmas break, our speaker was Major Ian Thomas, founder of the Torchbearers in England.
Major Thomas's theme was "Any Old Bush Will Do, As Long As God Is in the Bush."
He pointed out that it took Moses forty years in the wilderness to realize he was nothing.
God was trying to tell Moses, "I don't need a pretty bush or an educated bush or an eloquent bush.
If I am going to use you, I am going to use you.
It will not be you doing something for Me, but Me doing something through you."
*Your relationship with people*

* Generally people are cautious about the people that they follow.
They need to be convinced more today than ever of the worth of the cause and the trustworthiness & sincerity of the leader.
(March For Jesus, Proclamation.
Judged by past experience)

* I think that people follow "servants" after the order of Philippians 2.

/ 24 And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.
25 Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will./
I think that leaders do not have the luxury of saying the things that they would most like to say.
