× Worships (humble ourselves)
× Praises (give thanks)
× Prays (intercedes)
× Proclaims (tell of God)
That what we are here to do this morning - worship, praise, pray and proclaim. It's my goal that in so doing we create space for the Holy Spirit to work in our lives, our homes and our nation. The outline this morning - I will read from God’s Word, we’ll sing, I will lead us through the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6 intermixed with song.
2 Chronicles 7:13–14 ESV
When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
I would ask that we would pray
Psalm 139:23–24 ESV
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
1 Timothy 2:1–8 ESV
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;
Prayer is not all we need to do, however, this morning … that’s what we’re doing.
Call To Worship
Psalm 96:1–10 ESV
Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength! Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth! Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns! Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.”
Matthew 6:9 ESV
Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Matthew 6:10 ESV
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:11 ESV
Give us this day our daily bread,
Matthew 6:12 ESV
and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Matthew 6:13 ESV
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
