Intro:  It’s Spring Time.  It’s time for planting.

I.       The Sower and the Seed.

II.    The Four Types of Soil.

A.    The Hard Path.

B.     The Shallow Soil.

C.     The Thorny Soil.

D.    The Good Soil

III. How’s Your Soil?

A.    We Are Hard Hearted.

1)      In Our Rejection of His Word.

2)      In the Paths that We Walk.

B.     We Are Shallow.

1)      In the Time of Testing.

2)      In Our Uncommitted Excitement.

C.     We are Thorny.

IV. The Good Soil.

A.    Is Made Out of Bad Soil.

B.     Is Chosen Soil.

C.     Is Created Soil.

Conclusion:  God continues to create good soil in your hearts.

Parable of Salt and Light.

Intro:  Why would Jesus call us Salt.

I.       The Nature of Salt.

A.    Created by God.

B.     Is a Preservative.

C.     Has Healing and Cleansing powers.

II.    Tasteless Salt.

A.    By Dilution.

B.     By Lack of Use.

III. How’s Your Salt?

A.    Christ has made you Salty at the Cross.

B.     Evidence of Saltiness.

Conclusion:  The Church is like a giant Salt Shaker.  God is pouring you, the salt, upon the world.
