Here we are in this familiar passage, where Solomon has completed the house of the Lord and the kings house. Temple of God has been dedicated and now God appears to Solomon in the night to answer his prayer. We read in chapter 6 several request that Solomon ask of the Lord. He offers a prayer that looks like a contingency plan. This isnt the first time we see God present with a contingency plan. In Genesis 18 Abraham ask God for a contingency plan when He was about to destroy Sodom. 50 righteous, 45, 30, 20, 10. Yet here we are some 13 years later God answers Solomon’s prayer with a contingency plan of His own.
