Pleading Our Case

Habakkuk 1:1–4 The Message
The problem as God gave Habakkuk to see it: God, how long do I have to cry out for help before you listen? How many times do I have to yell, “Help! Murder! Police!” before you come to the rescue? Why do you force me to look at evil, stare trouble in the face day after day? Anarchy and violence break out, quarrels and fights all over the place. Law and order fall to pieces. Justice is a joke. The wicked have the righteous hamstrung and stand justice on its head.

Habakkuk had brought his case

God’s Response

God responded telling Habakkuk that captivity was coming the story was frightening

Habakkuk Responds

Habakkuk 1:12 MEV
Are You not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We will not die. O Lord, You have appointed them for judgment; and You, O Rock, have established them for correction.

Finally Habakkuk asses the graveness of the hour and says in verse 18 of Chapter 3

Habakkuk 3:18 MEV
yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the God of my salvation.
