The Power of Jesus John 11:28-57 - The power of Jesus to raise the dead (28-45) Philippians 2:5-7 - 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. - The power of Jesus was a threat to the religious elite (46-57) Luke 16:31 - "But he said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.'" - Acts 2:23 - this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. Jesus is not indifferent to our pain and suffering (Hebrews 4:15-16). Works of evil cannot prevent God from accomplishing His will (Genesis 50:20; Acts 4:27-28). There are only 2 responses to Jesus, you either submit to Him or reject Him (Luke 11:23). The power of Jesus to raise the dead is the foundational truth that solidifies our hope of eternal life.
