Let’s talk about The Patience of Paul—vv. 10–14
Scripture tells us as Christians to Support the workers like Pastors. Philippians 4:10 “How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me.” Paul appreciates the support of the Philippians. Note these words in 1 Corinthians 9:14
“In the same way, the Lord ordered that those who preach the Good News should be supported by those who benefit from it.”

Christian Satisfaction—vv. 11–12. No matter where Paul was He was content. Philippians 4:11–12 “11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. 12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little"

What About Our Christian Strength? Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Do we ever really think and dive into that scripture????? Paul can do all Christ asks because Christ strengthens him. Note the advice in Isaiah 40:31 tells the Israelite: Isaiah 40:31 “ But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

The Christians were doing their “Service” Loving, giving, nurturing. Philippians 4:14 “14 Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.” The people were faithful in helping Paul in financial matters. Note Paul’s words in Romans 10:15. “And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

The Pleasure of Paul, what pleased Paul? What made Paul happy?

Ministry Support. Only the Philippians faithfully supported Paul as he ministered. Others wanted service without support.Philippians 4:15
“15 As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this. 16 Even when I was in Thessalonica you sent help more than once.”

Christian Service should come naturally. “But though I appreciate your gifts, what makes me happiest is the well-earned reward you will have because of your kindness” You may give without loving, but you cannot love without giving. If you give without loving, you lose your reward. Those who refuse to give show their selfishness and lack of dedication.

Pleasure, when we have all we need, it pleases us. Right? Philippians 4:18 ““At the moment I have all I need—and more! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with Epaphroditus. They are a sweet-smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God.”.....

Paul’s needs were met because the people gave. God meets the need of His church and His ministers by having people give. Love always shares. Love never asks, “How much do I have to give.” It asks, “How much can I give?”

Provision.....All our needs are met by God. Philippians 4:19 “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” The Psalmist tells us in Psalm 37:25 “Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.” Remember, there is a difference between greed and need! God wants all our needs to be met.

So Paul is getting ready to Parting ways, verse 20 tells us: Philippians 4:20 “Now all glory to God our Father forever and ever! Amen. So Paul is again praising God for His bountiful blessings. Paul ends by giving praise to God over and over. Paul sends his greetings to all the Christians and prays that God’s blessings will be upon them.

Philippians 4:21–23 “21 Give my greetings to each of God’s holy people—all who belong to Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me send you their greetings. 22 And all the rest of God’s people send you greetings, too, especially those in Caesar’s household. 23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.”

As God meets our needs He expects us to be willing to help meet the needs of others. We may do this by: (1) Our finances. We will give more than our tithes … we will give tithes and offerings. Through our prayers. Other people’s problems and burdens become our concern.
