A Great Summary

3:1–6 Because of His humiliation, exaltation, and priestly work (Heb 2:5–18), Jesus has greater glory than Moses. Both were faithful to God; however, Moses was faithful as a servant of God, whereas Jesus is faithful as God’s Son. Jesus’ superiority does not negate the value and legitimacy of Moses and the law.

Note three things:
Brotherhood (2:11) with Christ
Holiness (also 2:11) like Christ
Sharing of the calling to be with Christ
Role and Functions of Jesus
Apostle—the sent one
High Priest (ref. 2:17-18), mediator
Builder (ref. John 1:3), not the house
Son, one responsible
Superiority of Jesus
As a son more than a servant
Moses was a wonderful servant
Not nearly so significant as Jesus
…if indeed we hold fast...
What’s that all about?
