Hope is Rising (Assurance in Perseverance)

Romans 5:1–5 KJV 1900

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Introduction

As we take a look at the beginning of the year 2020

Many celebrated the millennium year

I read many social media post referencing 2020 vision

There was a spirit of beginning

A spirit of re-newness

A fresh outlook on what life had in store

The year 2020, the year of clarity

Brought quickly confusion,

Remarkably confounded for many,

Our lives was quickly changed

Businesses closed

Educational institutions closed

Service workers no longer could work

Essential workers over worked

Safety equipment became scarce

The hole world was affected

But in the mist of tribulation

In a terrible time

God provided access

God provided assurance

God awarded those who are justified by faith

What are you saying preacher?

Now that things are what they are

The situation is what it is

God was what God was

God is what God is

God will be whom God will be

In other words

God is the same God

Yesterday, today and tomorrow

Through the trials, God is

Through the storms, God is

In the mist of trouble, God is

And when we are apart of God

God will be apart of us

And when you have God on your side

Though I walk through the valley of shadow of death

I will fear no evil for thou art with me

Thy rod and staff they comfort me

Because we have been justified by faith

Politics can be peculiar,

Paychecks can be postpone,

Panic can be popular,

But in God, there is peace

And with peace

We have hope,

And with hope, you won’t be ashamed

Hope is rising, assurance in perseverance

The Romans writer Paul, is listing 5 results of justification

Peace with God

Access to God

Assurance from God

Indwelt by God

Preserved by God

I don’t have time to speak on all five this morning

I just want to highlight the access, and assurance, and the indwelling (the awarding) of God

Access

When we believe on Jesus Christ

When we accept him as our personal savior

When we are justified by faith,

We then have peace, with God

God provided peace for us all over 2000 years ago

They stretched Him wide,

They Hung Him high,

He hung bled and died

God so love the world that he gave His only begotten son

That whomsoever believeth on Him shall not parish

But have everlasting life,

God offered us His peace

And with His peace we have access

I thank God for access

God has given you access,

God has given me access,

We have direct access to God

Ask somebody, do you have access?

If you need access, it’s available today, by faith

If you believe it, you can receive it

You can go where no unrighteous man has ever gone before

You can experience His grace, God’s unmerited favor

In His grace, is peace

In His grace, is power

In His grace, is joy

All that I been through I still have joy,

Do you have joy today?

In the mist of COVID-19

Joy

In the mist of an unstable economy

Joy

In the midst of sickness and disease

Joy

In the midst of death of love ones

Joy

In the mist trials

Joy

In the midst of tribulation

Joy

I still have Joy

Text somebody I got joy

Because I have access

Assurance

And when you have access, you have assurance

Wake somebody up in the house,

With a shout, I have assurance

Say I have hope

We don't’ like going through tribulations

We don’t like trouble,

Paul is reminding us that, when we have the peace of God

When we have access to God through Christ Jesus

And with His peace and His assurance,

Trouble may come,

When trouble comes.

You can hold up your shield of faith

When trouble comes,

You can embrace with the breastplate of righteousness

When tribulations comes,

You can hold to your helmet of salvation

When tribulations comes,

You can stand with your sword of the spirit, which is the word of God

I have a question,

Do you have the assurance?

I know, I know

I know, you don’t like trouble,

I know, you don’t like issues,

I know, it’s painful,

I know, it’s uncomfortable

But with the assurance of God,

Paul says, we glory in tribulations also

If you have the assurance of God

You have joy in good times and the bad times.

If you have the assurance of God

you can praise in pressure and in problems,

If you have the assurance of God

You can shout in scarcity and in sacrifice

Because tribulation worketh patience

Patience, experience

Experience, Hope

and Hope maketh not ashamed

With God’s assurance you want be disappointed

Man may disappoint you,

In the assurance of God, There is no disappointment

It may look bad right now,

But the assurance of God

It may feel bad at the moment

But the assurance of God

Hold on, don’t let go, Now,

It’s almost over,

The pain is too much, but hold on it’s almost over

The stress is too much, hold on it’s all most over

The depression is too much, hold on it’s all most over

The political powers want process my stimulus package

Hold on it’s almost over

Your job hasn’t called my back to work

Hold on it’s almost over

Hope is rising

Assurance in Perseverance

Awarded

And when you have the assurance of God

The reason, you need to hold on

Is God has already awarded you

Say I got the Victory,

I have Triumph Life

God’s love has provided

God’s love outpoured

God’s love has shed abroad in our hearts

By the Holy Ghost,

An indwelling of His love,

We’ve been awarded

With His Holy Spirit

Wake somebody and tell’em

I’ve been awarded! I’ve been awarded!

I’ve been awarded! I’ve been awarded!

I have the love of God

In my heart.

I have the love of God

In my soul

There’s something on the inside,

Working on the outside,

Oh’ what a change in my life.

And because of His love,

On the inside,

It doesn’t matter

What they say

Because of the love on the inside,

It does’t matter what they do

Because of the love in the inside

It just don’t matter

How they feel

Because of the love on the inside,

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world,

Because of His love

Our hope, goes beyond the material

Because of His love

Our hope goes beyond trials

Because of His love

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or

nakedness, or peril, or sword?

My hope is rising

Your hope is rising

Assurance in perseverance

Conclusion

The nailed His hands

And they nailed His feet

He hung bled and died

He was buried in a borrowed tomb

My Hope

Your Hope

Our Hope

Got up,on the third day, one Sunday Morning

With all power, all power

My Hope have power

Do your hope have power?

We have assurance in perseverance

Because our Hope is Risen.
