Where is your heart?
Where is your heart?
16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
19. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
When we tithe we are giving back to God a piece of what he has already given us. We are putting him Firs in our life by saying before I spent the money I will give it back to you because you are the one who gave it to me.
When we focus on our selves when it comes to money it never ends well. the bible says the love of money is the root of all evil. It can lead us into a trap and we can fall because of it. We are to trust God with our lives and rely on money.
Money is temporary: the bible says that it can rot and it can be stolen. When people put too much faith in the money in their pocket it can stress them out and drive them to do crazy things. But when we put our faith in God instead of the material, then we are investing our lives into something eternal.
Money can turn into our master. Just like how money can be the root of evil. Money can also turn into our Master's.
