Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries.
But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation.
One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church.
Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy; and greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edifying.

I believe Prophesy is speaking the heart of God.
Yes we have the Bible…the inerrant word of God.
Which is primary and unequivocal guide for us to hear from God
But God does not limit our interactions with Him soley to His written word
In the English NT the word “word” appears in 383 verse
We have come to recognize that Jesus is the “word” referenced in the Word.

but of the 383 references
316 come from the greek word Logos
67 reference come from the greek word rhema
However our English translation just use the english word “word”

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
to fulfill the word of Jesus which He spoke, signifying by what kind of death He was about to die.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
We have come to recognize that Jesus is the “word” referenced in the Word.

in the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness.
“Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
One way of looking at this is Logo is the General word of God for all people
The Bible- the word of God
Rhema is a word for a individual(s)
A “Logos” is not going to tell you if you should marry this person or not, but it can tell everyone how to live their life
You heard about the guy who wanted to know the will of God for his life, so he blindly opened the Bible pointed at a verse
Matthew 27:5 Judas went away and hanged himself
the man thought to himself that’s kinda strange
so he tried it again, this time his finger landed on
Luke 10:37 Jesus told him Go and do Likewise
more concern came over the man but he tried 1 more time
this time his finger landed on
John 13:27 So Jesus told him What you are about to do, do it quickly
The point of this illustration is don’t take the word of God out of context.
Rhema word is God speaking to the individual, about specific concerns they have.
That is really what we are doing when we are prophesying

The purpose of Prophesy is to share the heart of God.
That’s why the Apostle Paul relayed to the Church at Corinth The purpose is edify exhort and comfort.

to instruct and improve especially in moral and religious knowledge
one example would be if there was a self centered, greedy person, who was changed into someone who began feeding the homeless.
That change in mindset would be called edification

to incite by or advice : urge strongly or give warning
one example would be you see a child attempting to insert a fork into a electrical outlet.
the urgent process of teaching them that’s a bad idea is exhortation

to give strength and hope to
An example of comfort, is you see someone about to attempt something they are quite certain they can do.
like you have a friend who wants to run a 5k race. You come in and tell you can do this. Your capable!
that’s comfort. When you take a heightened stressful time and reduce the pressure with encouragement
Please keep these things in mind.
Prophesy is not a big stick to control or impress people
rather its a gift given by God to help His children reach the potential He has put within them.
We all need a little help from time to time.
You may have noticed that 2020 has had alot of would be prophets come out of the woodwork
many of them are saying
its the end of the world.
Jesus is coming back at any moment.
we are in the last days

True we are in the “last days” they began when Jesus rose again over 2000 years ago
you may be thinking how can 2000 years all be the last days?
From God’s perspective it only been like 2 days since Jesus resurrected
think I’m crazy?
But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.

Yes Jesus could return at any moment. That should always be forefront on our minds
“For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.
Its the end of world

honestly. this is the worst end of the world ever
I mean people sitting and home watching netflix has got to be the worst end of the world scenario ever conceived.
I’ve stated this before, but it bares repeating.
Many eschatology experts have stated every prophesy that needs to be fulfilled before Jesus can return has been fulfilled.
the last one that needed to be fulfilled occurred on May 14 1948 When the nation of Israel was formed
I’ve even said this myself.
But God lead me to another prophesy that I believe still needs to be fulfilled.
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”
Too many Christians have this defeatest mentality
that things are going to get so bad here on the earth, Jesus is going to have to come back and rescue us before we all wiped out.
This pessimistic view has crippled the church for generations
After all who wants to put in all the effort to build something if its just going to be destroyed in the near future
I’m just going to huddle down here until He comes and rescues me!
Problem with that is. That was never the plan of Jesus.

But I hear you say, the Bible tells us things are going to get really bad in the end.
Your right it does. We call that the Tribulations
But we’re not there yet!
It doesn’t matter if your Pre-trib Post Trib or the undecided mid-trib
the tribulation has not begun!
If your a post-millennialist the tribulation is already over so this doesn’t apply to you!
The Bible states when the tribulation will begin.
“And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”
The 7 year period of the tribulation is started by the Anti-Christ signing a 7 year peace treaty with Israel.
Until that happens we are called to be about our fathers business.
If you beleive in pre-trib. You won’t see it the treaty as the church will be raptured prior to it being signed
Mid 3 1/2 years of Hell on earth before Christ takes the church home
Post , you get to be a part of the entire 7 years of tribulation
Now if you hear someone is signing a 7 year peace plan between Israel and all its enemies, that will be a very good sign we are entering the tribulation.
until then Jesus’s words still stand
And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
“I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”
Allow me to share with you my perspective on what season the Church is in.
2020 the year of the Great awakening

The awakened is defined as a renewing of the minds of God People.
getting our thoughts to line up with the plans and purposes of God
We are better together
We can’t afford to be Lukewarm
We have to allow ourselves to think supernaturally
We must cultivate a culture of honor to resist division

What I’m about to say next is rather hard hard for me to say.
It falls under the category of Exhortation.

God showed me the next phase as we come out of Covid there will be revealed a great falling away.
many churches will close
many former believers will stop believing the Church is a necessary part of the journey
God spoke to me the passage of
So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.
“He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
“For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.
“He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.
“As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me.
“This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.”
These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.
Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this said, “This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?”
But Jesus, conscious that His disciples grumbled at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?
“What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before?
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
“But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him.
And He was saying, “For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father.”
As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore.
So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to go away also, do you?”
Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.
“We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.”
Jesus answered them, “Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?”
Now He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray Him.
64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him.
66 As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore.
For some Christians who simply filled a chair 1-2 times per month
Churches closed gave them the opportunity to neglect meeting together
Barna research has confirmed what God was telling me about the falling away
35% Are watching their home church
14% have switched to another church
32% Have never watched any service
18% are watching multiple services
Boomers 40% Stay 11% switch 26% Stopped
Gen X 31% stay 17% switch 35% Stopped
Millenials 30% stay 8% switch 50% stopped
Whether or not these people who are not watching their home church return to their Church when it reopen is yet to be known
but my spirit is feeling many will not
That truly breaks my heart!
Those of you who are here or watching online need to reach out to your fellow believers in Christ and encourage them where they are at.
It not just the Job of the Pastor, but everyone who is a fellow believer
For what happens after this falling away by those according to Jesus who “do not believe”
Is something amazing
near the end of the 1st quarter of 2021 will begin the greatest outpouring of the glory of God this world will ever see
on those who have remained faithful to their call .... Jesus’s promise found in
“Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
“Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
will be made manifest.
Not just the pastors, evangelists or church leader. but upon everyone who believes.
this will lead us to the greatest gathering of harvest the world has seen.
But let’s not forget the opportunity that is before us right now.
Its not time to bunker down and wait for our salvation
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
Even though some may fall away, and we should do everything we can to prevent such a thing
We must also look to the harvest that is before us right now
For there are those who going to come to salvation in the next few months who are going to be integral in the harvest of 2021
God is putting believers on your heart right now who need your prophetic voice
God is putting pre-believers on your heart right now who are ready and willing to accept Him as savior
reach out to them
God is equipping you right now to carry out His will here on the earth.
