Nothing is too big for God

But now thus says the LORD,

he who created you, O Jacob,

he who formed you, O Israel:

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;

I have called you by name, you are mine.

2  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;

when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,

and the flame shall not consume you.

3  For I am the LORD your God,

the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

I like to make things, often I go from project to project trying to create something beautiful or useful. Ive had 3D printers, paint, power tools, and even lasers.
Ween I create something I take time and put a lot of thought into it. I learn the best way to make it and I am always making it for some purpose. Sometimes it is just to make something cool like this (Show Laser Stuff) but more often than not I want to make something useful!
When I am making something like that I want it to fulfill its purpose and more importantly I want it to work for a long time. I will work to protect what I made or strengthen it in some way so it doesn't break. I will reinforce it or use it alongside another creation so I can relieve some of the stress.
God does the same thing for us,
God has made us wonderfully and placed us in this wonderful position to accomplish a calling. Isaiah says “He created you…He formed you” He had a purpose and a plan in mind specifically for you. He says HE redeemed us and called us by name. thats important because God has declared us His
When I have something thats mine I protect it all the more, its special because its MINE!!
God looks at us and says “MINE”!!
What does that mean for us though especially now? Well look at verse 2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you

God will protect us ad come alongside us. This is so important right now because I know many of you feel overwhelmed by the thought of this year. All of the technology changes, the virus, the different style of teaching is crazy. And its coming at us like a rushing river but God stand beside us in its midst. He reinforces our position and allows us to keep moving forward.
We can stand in the midst of these trials that we are now facing because God is with us and he will not forsake us!
We should rejoice in these trials we are facing like we read about in James 1:2

2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

We will be stronger ad better after facing what this year is bringing us and its already started! look at the two missionary girls. We are able to educate students living halfway across the world whose parents are serving the Kingdom and both girls have a desire to serve the Lord. One wants to set up a missionary re-entry camp so that missionary have resources to integrate back into the mainstream. Our school gets to be a part of that mission now forever entangled. YOU get to be a part of that mission now. If this great thing has come about already, and we haven’t even started yet, imagine what else will come about.
The old song says “count your blessings, count them one by one, count your blessing and see what the Lord has done.” James tells us we need to include our trials in that list so we can truly see what how amazing the Lord is and what he has done for us. Our faith will be steadfast and the Lord will be by oir side.
As we enter this year I want to challenge you, and stand beside you, to count these challenges that seem overwhelming and impossible as blessings. I want you to rememebr God is standing beside you every step of the way to protect his creation and make it stronger. Make it stronger through the trials we face and the blessings that occur.
