What do i do now?
What do i do now?
in life many highs - our final destination of calling Purpose and victory in heaven - but what do we do when we find ourselves in the in between spaces What do i do now?
what am i waiting for - we want to get through the waiting - to
to get to the next birthday - when im....
Certain achievement when i ...... i can do .....
who likes waiting in the waiting we can become impatient, blow off course, be distracted, discouraged, demotivated ,dreams can die
its funny how different things change when they are left; you leave soft bread = hard moldy
dough = rises
vinegar = pickles
when you are left - do you rise or go stale???
Life to the full - james challenge
live in the room transition
but its in the waiting that God is able to move most powerfully
its in those inbetween times that he most profound lessons can be learned
Jesus used stuff around them to help them understand - use of parables - to explain
lost coins, every day things, gardening
caterpiller to butterfly the cocoon is the journey hidden melting pot of transformation
our lives as Stu talking about desire journey from here to the end dream - journey
Bible tells of major events - meetings with God - revelations - what about the hidden times?
we want the vision - we want the result - we struggle with the journey
What do we do when no one sees - in the gap - on the journey?
We live in a visual world - appearance matters - car home job looks
5 months of Covid measures - isolation - away from jobs - the visual practical ways many lean on to prove justify their worth identity
God is interested in the inner self - that is where the transformation takes place - that is actually what affects our outward appearance
2 pics - grumpy teen quite clear what is going on
me with kids as babies - postnatal depression cant tell the anxiety
God want to change us from the inside out
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
The potential of a seed - to grow - strong roots - provide shelter - house animals - produce fruit - feed us - clean air
From seed to plant there is a journey
I want to use that middle bit, we know you plant it = we know we get fruit… but what happens i between === how on earth doe this relate to life
I’m a nature girl so i like seeing the similarity gonna draw so you can see...
Seed of potential - vision new life new nature now child of God
parable of the sower Mt 13 path - don’t understand get snatched up/ rocky ground - no root / thorns - smothered by desire of the world / good soil
first sow it - means buried in the soil / mud/ dark, alone, no one can see
hope lost? what am i doing here?this is not the plan - Joseph , Daniel, Esther, Jesus, the disciples after seeing Jesus die
Barren places, corridoor of life
covid lockdown, 5 months no vision of how this life will look, normal, new normal situation changing
no school
house move /lost job / broken relationship perhaps none of those thing but just a plateau, cant put your finger on it but life seems on pause not sure what to be/do or where to go.
interesting that actually to grow it has to go in the dirt -what has been the dirt in your life?
3 options
leave it alone -
may try to take any good ness from the situation but soon dries out - die - church toilet plant may even look good from the outside - but touch it and it falls apart - a seed just rots
made a decision but then left it - not pursued a relationship with God not made any effort to feed
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
over feed it: keep watering it - keep feeding it - / it doesn’t get a chance to absorb any goodness - it gets flooded - saturated - can process it - rots
Careful purposeful cultivation: water with intent with time to absorb and apply what im talking about here? spend time with God read His word and put it into action obedience
Jesus first 30 years sumed up
And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.
when we go through the wilderness/silent time easy to become disengaged 1st pic
devil comes to
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
in your head - don’t bother it isn’t real, you’ve been abandoned.
faithful obedience
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
sometimes silence is a trial - if we don’t allow the wait keeping our trust in God certain work cannot be perfected in you
over time/trial/patience - roots appear
if u go straight up for the visual effect for everyone to see - the moment a crisis hits you’ll be blown over as no roots
But in the silence of intimacy with God growing deeper roots - when it is completed in you and you start to sprout - you are steady
power of a root can move a building - our patio borridge
regular feeding - intake - application growth - feeding cycle prove - flourish
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
keep in step with the spirit
