Urgent and Dilegant in prayer v2

Colossians 4:2 NIV
2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
Jesus told a parable so that his disciples would always pray and not give up
Luke 18:1 NIV
1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
Pray in Faith: pray in faith not our effort that produces result we acknowledge our reliance on God and our confidence in God.
Ephesians 3:20 NIV
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
Eph 3:20 we are trusting in God to answer our prayers in accordance with his will. Prayer strengthens our faith
Mark 11:22–25 NIV
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Partner with God in Prayer: 1 John do we fail to pray trustig we are partnering with him as he builds the church. More we pray we become more aliened with his mission. Prayer aligns our life Goals to God’s big mission not our small missions.
1 John 5:14–15 NIV
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

Prayer Accompanies our Evangelism v 3

Colossians 4:3 NIV
3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.
God answers our prayers:
Acts 14:27 NIV
27 On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.
Prayer helps us share the mystery:
Romans 16:25 NIV
25 Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past,
Our Witness is acompanied by prayer: Matt 28:19-20.

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We can seed faith in someone but it is God who makes it grow. 1 Cor 3:6-7

6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
Prayer is a tool for evangelism.: It is a weapon we can use against the Devil’s schemes.
Ephesians 6:12–18 NIV
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Eph 6:12-18. Evil inhibits the message of Jesus. It strengthens us and protects us from the influence of the devil and the lives of others we hope to share the truth and love of Jesus with.
Prayer helps us when we are timid: even in chains:
Acts 21:33 NIV
33 The commander came up and arrested him and ordered him to be bound with two chains. Then he asked who he was and what he had done.

Prayer Helps us have clear Evangelism v 4-5

Are we willing to be used by God to help others with urgency: Isa 6:8 send me.

Our lack of urgency
Romans 3:21–24 NIV
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
The need for salvation Romans 3:21-24. This urgency makes us willing to go through the messiness of evangelism like rejection or ridicule. Christian cringe is a thing..
Romans 1:16–17 NIV
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
Paul in prison was not ashamed of the Gospel Rom 1:16-17.
2 Corinthians 6:1–2 NIV
1 As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. 2 For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
He speeks of the urgency to the Corinthians in 2 Cor 6:1-2.
