Teaching on the End Times.
So far we have studied the book of 1 and 2 Thessalonians, the book of Daniel and parts of the Book of Revelation, but let us hear about the end times from the Master Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Just as there are renewed curiosity about the ends times because of the uniqueness of the times that we live in, the pandemic in our lifetime and the uncertainty in the world we live in people are asking, when will the end be?
The disciples of Jesus just days before he was crucified asked the same question. This passage of scripture became what is known as the Olivet discourse, Jesus taught from the Mount of Olives..
The Olivet Discourse
About events in the end times.
Focused on the Nation of Israel.
Describes the Tribulation Period.
Matthew 24:1–2 NKJV
1 Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
One continuous narrative..
In the chapter before it, Matthew told of Jesus’ teaching at the temple and pronouncing the seven woes against the scribes and the pharisees.
At the end of the chapter He lamented or cried over Jerusalem,
He described their sins.
He expressed His love for them..
Matthew 23:37 NKJV
37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
You see the heart of Jesus for His own people of Israel.
Then He pronounces a sad indictment:
Matthew 23:38–39 NKJV
38 See! Your house is left to you desolate; 39 for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
In Luke chapter 19 Jesus said something similar, “ you, Israel did not recognize the time of your visitation.”
Say something.. they missed it!
Open your eyes to the work and movement of God!
People will have their own personal visitation from God and many will miss it.
This leads us to the conversation in the next chapter, chapter 24, while they were leaving the temple area the apostles were pointing out to him the buildings of the temple.. Jesus said prophetically..
Matthew 24:2 NKJV
2 And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
This is really a prophetic word from Jesus this was fulfilled some 40 years later with the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman armies.. The stones of Herod’s temple were gigantic stones, how can they be thrown down? The temple was set on fire by the Roman general Titus in 70 AD.. the blaze was so intense that the stones crumbled, then afterwards the rubble was sifted for melted gold from the temple and the stones were thrown to the Kidron valley.
At this point the disciples became very curious, and wanted to know more..
Matthew 24:3 NKJV
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
And Jesus’ reply leads to the Olivet Discourse describing the end of the age:
Matthew 24:4–14 NKJV
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
These are the
Signs of The End of the Age: (Talk through Each One)

The Unholy Trinity (Revelation 13)
Revelation 13 NKJV
1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” 5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. 11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth—by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.
