Prove It

Often we need to make sure our lives are lining up profession.

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. (Jas 3:13).

It was in Chapter 1 James said, 21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

(Jas 1:21–22). By his good conduct. His ethics. Doing justly. Everyday we have an opportunity to prove who we are! No just in talk but in our conduct. As James said faith without works is dead we are to show our works in meekness of wisdom. Its this simple. I may not be all I want to be but thank God I am not what I use to be! The Church is taking a great hit these days because many Christians are living way below the standards that God has set. It was the same thing back in the early Church. James said Prove It. The Message Bible made it so plain: Do you want to be counted wise, to build a reputation for wisdom? Here’s what you do: Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It’s the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts. (Jas 3:13). How you living these days? Each of us need to live out our salvation!. We should be certain our speech and actions lead to community peace and solidarity. This weeks March on Washington had that intent. We were their to build solidarity for a common cause. Every speaker drilled home the same message. Recognize black lives do matter, systemic racism is real and its affecting how we are being policed in American and Our vote counts and should be be subject to oppressive tactics.

Reprove It

This word reprove means reprimand or censure. To correct. We have some correcting to do if we find ourselves as James said in verse 14-17 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.

Mean-spirited ambition isn’t wisdom. Boasting that you are wise isn’t wisdom. Twisting the truth to make yourselves sound wise isn’t wisdom. It’s the furthest thing from wisdom—it’s animal cunning, devilish conniving. Who does that sound like? The Message Bible went on to say Whenever you’re trying to look better than others or get the better of others, things fall apart and everyone ends up at the others’ throats. (Jas 3:16).

We are at a state in our country where it is total Chaos. Society has fell apart. We are at each others throat. The Progressives don’t like the Conservatives. The Right against the left. If you watched the last two weeks of the Democratic and Republican Conventions you would think we lived in two different countries. The realities of one is based on obvious lies.. I’m just saying!

Improve It

Finally we have to Improve. Real wisdom, God’s wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterized by getting along with others. Look at the list we should be striving towards. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. (Jas 3:17).

Pure

Peaceable

Gentle

Open to Reason

Full of Mercy

Full of Good Fruitss

Impartial

Sincere
