Today I want to talk about the Bible. Study. Worship.

We are all missing touches which are significant which we are a part of the fabric of our life together in this faith community.

We have made adjustments...and more must be made.

We need to continue to leverage new technologies...(which we are doing right now!)

We need to continue to build community...which can be difficult without physical contact.

We need to provide context for the truths of Scripture...because truth without context can be used to mislead.

I am in the planning stages for mid-week studies through November.

For the next few weeks let’s consider the Bible and it’s role in our lives.

The Church has always been at the bleeding edge of “Media” Technologies

Our current technologies can give you great flexibility.

Watch during the live stream...

Watch at your leisure...As Sunday School or Midweek Bible Study.

You can save, share and repeat the materials.

The technologies are tools not tricks

In 1985 writing about the shift from print to TV Neil Postman wrote

"It is my intention...to show that a great media-metaphor shift has take place in America, with the result that the content of much of our public discourse has become dangerous nonsense." Amusing Ourselves to Death. p. 16

The ongoing transition Internet...to Web...to Social Media...to streaming media continues and accelerates this trend.

I want us to leverage the available tech without becoming dependent, enthralled, victimized or enslaved to it.

I miss in-person worship. Sunday School. Bible Study. We are blessed with other opportunities

The Message Must be Biblical (Let's think

The majesty of scriptural revelation.

Psalm 19:1–14 ESV
1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. 2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. 4 Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, 5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy. 6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat. 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. 11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. 12 Who can discern his errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults. 13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 119:11–16 ESV
11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. 12 Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes! 13 With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth. 14 In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. 16 I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
