We have talked about God’s Kingdom!
How great it is!
How great it is that not only we can enter His Kingdom
but that we have a purpose in it!
I want to talk to you guys about finding purpose in the Kingdom of God!
Turn to 2 Tim2:20
as you turn
this verse is about serving in God’s Kingdom
what you need to understand is that God’s Kingdom has not come yet…
thats later in Rev.22
But we are to prepare the world for His kingdom as it says in
Rev 5:10, 1 Peter 2:9, Eph 2:10, 1 Cor 1:26-29
now lets read:
*trinity get a snow cone one with just ice and one with tigers blood
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
This is a reference to poop
and
this is a reference to vessels
we are all vessels
our hearts
is a vessel or container of feelings, emotions, desires,
makes sense?
Now in the perfection of the kingdom of God
much of those feelings, emotions, and desires is poopoo
some of you are entering the Kingdom of God full of poop.
i am making light though of a serious thing.
were all vessels.
and in God’s eyes were all the same.
11 For God does not show favoritism.
37 Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, 38 saying: “ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” 39 And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” 40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”
teaches us that we can be replaced by stones
*grab cup*
so it doesnt matter what you look like,
in God’s eyes we are all the same
how popular you are,
how shy you are,
how fit you are
how righteous you are
God’s work is going to happen with or without you.
So We all have a calling, God is giving, your calling isn’t for the religious it is for the willing.
thats why it says in
21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
Bible says we are sanctified by the Holy Spirit
11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
2 God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace.
so we are useful when the Holy Spirit has been sanctifiyng us.
*cup*
some of you here have God in you *plain ice*
but you also left room for crap.
with your sin, your selfish wants, desires,
God cant do much with this....
but this is tigers blood but lets pretend it Jesus blood
and if we are filled with God’s Spirit, coveredby His blood.. we are useful.
Point here is that
its not about you.... its about what is in you...
You cant do much with poop....
but some many of us…
wonder why God isnt using you.....
well
Its not about you its about what is in you.
or sometimes what not in you.
Are you entering the kingdom of God with your own poop or with the Spirit of God?
If you want to be a vessel of Honor in Gods Kingdom then do what vese 22 says:
22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Specifically its not about you .... its about what or who is in you.
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
