What does it mean to trust God?
What does it mean to trust God?
Trust
++Is firm belief in the reliability
++Anchored in a perception of truth, ability and strength
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding.
We are told
++Where to put our trust
++How to trust him
Our trust in him
++May be uncomfortable
++May feel illogical
Will you catch me?
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.
We must
++Remember the Lord
++Recognize Him
++Follow Him
He is our Guide
++In the unfamiliar path
++To the path of Righteousness
In the last for weeks we began a Journey
++We walked with the risen Lord
++Reflected God’s power in creation
++Witness the power of choice
++Saw a Holy God as Savior even in Judgment

Abraham and Isaac Trust God
The story of faith is marked by the man Abraham. He was a man that heard from God and followed Him. He is listed in Hebrew 11’s Faith Hall of Fame.

++Abraham

Nowhere is Isaac mention.
Nowhere is Isaac mention.
He was without a notable moment
He only had a declaration from God
21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
What was it like to be told
++You are chosen
++You are special
++You are hear because of a promise
++You are the key to God’s plan
Isaac had no Faith story
++His father had faith
++His mother had faith
++He was a benefactor of their faith
Mothers and fathers
hold on to your faith
Hold on to your testimony
never quit
There is a benefit working in your children
Just because a story is not told doesn’t mean there is no story.
This lesson is not
++Isolated to one man
++about a single decision
Faith expressed by one has an effect on others.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
It was not about what they recieved
It was not about what they recieved
They did not receive
++The Promise
++The Answer
++The Remedy
But faith gave them
++A good report
++A testimony
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Because of their faith God helps us
Because of their faith God helps us
God shows us
++Life is not about us
++Life is not about comfort
++Life is not about blessing
Life is about a relationship of trust
Life is about a relationship of trust
He declares to Israel
16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:
Tell Israel that I am the God of
++Abraham (Father of Faith)
++Isaac (Benefactor of faith)
++and Jacob
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
