I. Introduction {TT – Mark 11:23}
A. The Truths of Revival
1. We’ve begun looking at examples of Revival in O.T.
a) Jacob; Samuel;
b) Last time - Revival in Asa’s day.
(1) (Early King of Southern Kingdom – Judah)
B. Characteristics we have noticed about revival:
1. WHAT BRINGS REVIVAL?:
a) Intercession with fasting (sacrifice).
(1) Repentance leading to holiness (sanctification)
(a) Sacrifice and Commitment by the folks!
(i) One person can have a revival (ie: Jacob), but …
(a) … it will be limited to one person!!!
(i) Requires the rejection and destruction of idols of all types.
II. WHAT DOES REVIVAL BRING?:
A. Deep, devoted praise, worship, and thanksgiving.
1. Salvation, deliverance & restoration.
a) Peace
(1) Ironically attracts demonic attacks.
2. Deeper levels of holiness and sanctification.
III. WHAT’S REQUIRED DURING REVIVAL?:
A. Strong, diligent, humble, Godly leadership
a) WHAT CAN CAUSE A REVIVAL TO FAIL OR FIZZLE?:
B. Moral failure on part of leadership.
IV. Turning focus from God to natural solutions to defend against attacks.
