It would seem, some in the Corinthian congregation were creating human centred identity markers. And thus a sense of discontentment set in as cultural and social divisions became dominant in the congregation. Being content means being satisfied in our spiritual status in Christ, in whatever the circumstance of life God has placed us. “You were bought with a price”. We are slaves of God in Christ Jesus. That is who we are. That is our glorious and most worthy status.
