Pure are Heart
Pure are Heart
Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
Pertaining to being clean or free of adulteration matter, clean, pure.
Free from what weakens, or pollutes
Containing nothing that does not properly belong
being 100% wholeheartedly… not double minded.
Single minded! Focused! Committed, all in!
he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
James 4:8 says “purify your hearts, you double minded”
In other words it is our job to purify our hearts.
This context is not something that God does its our choice!
Things that pollute our heart!
Lack of faith, Lack of hope lack of love lack of joy lack of trust and lack of wisdom?
Things that fill our hearts when there is a lack in it!
Fear, anxiety, hate, sadness, foolishness, confusion, compulsions, anger, isolation
How do we do this? How do we purify our hearts?
We know the Bible tells us to Guard our heart!
Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
How huge it is to guard our Heart? Life begins and flows from our hearts
The heart in the Bible was thought to be a sort of “control center” from which all of our decisions were made. So when we read about the heart in the Bible, it is about the place where you have your will, your attitude and intentions, and which is the source of your thoughts, actions and words.
This heart is the core of who you are as a person. Your heart is, essentially, you.
With your heart you choose between good and evil. Your conscience sends out a message of whether something is right or wrong, and your heart is what drives you to choose. The heart that is in connection with God is able to choose the good every time. The heart that opens itself to other, impure influences becomes blind and confused when it comes to discerning between good and evil.
Our hearts are the filters by which all our being is expressed.
What you treasure, what is important to you
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Treasure is measured by need.
What we need the most is the most treasured and valuable thing in our lives.
Money is only valuable because it gives us what we need.
Our hearts have needs… These needs are legitimate and real.
What does your heart need? What is your heart pursuing?
Our hearts will pursue things our heart desires or wants.
The love is money is a heart condition because we feel we need money to give us what our hearts want.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Questions we should ask ourselves:
What is in our heart today? What are we pursuing?
What is it that consumes our thoughts and time?
What are the things we value and cherish we need?
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
“ and everyone who has this hope(to be Like Jesus) in Him purifies himself.”
Hope!
and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
“Purifying their hearts by faith”
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word.
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
faith, hope, trust, peace, love and God’s word clean our hearts
Hearts are were we are tested… Hearts are were we are examined!
Hearts are were hardness comes from… Stubbornness.
We need Love!
