Celebrate a champion
Champion is a fighter or a warrior
- Fighting spirit - someone who displays courage in the midst of a struggle
Brave - displays courageous endurance
One word stands out in all these descriptions, and that is COURAGE
DEFINITION: COURAGE
Is the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, to face danger, to face pain without fear.
2 Corinthians 1:3–4 NIV
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
When i read this scripture i was well aware that there might be people here who do not quite feel or experience what this scripture says,
compassion - lamentation at the death of a person
comfort - in the Hebrew there was a hint of taking the blame, so in other words, it is as if God was expecting resentment in the midst of the grief…it’s ok, you can put it on my shoulders
we don’t have the answers to things that happen
Isaiah 57:1–2 NIV
The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.
The Lord showed me how he was whispering to Avi:
Deuteronomy 31:6–8 NIV
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
a promise from God
Psalm 40:1–3 NIV
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.
Isaiah 57:1–2 NIV
The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.
