Last week we looked at Jn 15:5 I am the vine and you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in Him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

We said:

·        You can’t do anything significant apart from Jesus.

·        Biblical success is not determined by what you have but by who you are becoming.

·        The process of growth is never ending.

.

Now let me explain what my hope and desire for you is as you and I seek to become impact 360° believers.

My hope and desire is…

·        For you to hear when God is speaking to you.

·        For you to clearly identify the activity of God in your life.

·        For you to believe Him to be and do everything He promises.

·        For you to adjust your beliefs, behaviour and character to Him and His ways.

·        For you to see a direction that He is taking in your life and what He wants to do through your life.

·        For you to clearly know what you need to do in response to His activity in your life.

·        For you to experience God doing through you what only God can do!

Illustration: My experience of breathing in fumes behind a taxi.

We need to be breathing in the cool clean un-contaminated air of the Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit, the, The term ‘spirit’ translates Hebrew (ruach) and Greek (pneuma) words denoting ‘wind,’ ‘breath,’ and, by extension, a life-giving element. With the adjective ‘holy,’ the reference is to the divine spirit, i.e., the Spirit of God.

So with this in mind we commence a series entitled “Experiencing God”

I will be basing my messages on some groundbreaking research done by Henry T  Blackaby and Claude V King on the subject of knowing and doing the will of God.

Our series will take you on a journey through the Bible as we unpack all that God’s Word has to say about knowing and doing God’s will.

The idea is that we don’t just know about God but that we experience Him in our lives.

At the end of this series you should be able to discern what God’s agenda is for you and get onto it.

The end result will be IMPACT 360°.

Experience = knowing & doing

So, Have you ever wanted to know and do the will of God?

John 17:2-3 (NLT)
3 And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. [2]

To know God and to Know Jesus is the heart of eternal life.

“Knowing God does not come through a programme, a study or a method. Knowing God comes through a relationship with a person. This is an intimate love relationship with God. Through this relatiosship he reaveals himself, his purposes and his ways; and invites you to join him where He is already at work. When you obey, God accomplishes through you something only He can do. Then you come to know God in a more intimate way by experiencing God at work through you.

I want to help you move into the kind of relationship to God through which you will truly experience eternal life to the fullest degree possible.” Pg 1 Experiencing God.

John 10:10 (NIV)
10 … I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Would like to experience life to the full? You may, if you are willing to respond to God’s invitation to an intimate love relationship with Him.

1. !!!! The requirement, prerequisite for knowing and doing the will of God is that you have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jesus is His name and Christ is His title that refers to him as the Messiah.

·        Believe that Jesus paid a death penalty for your sin by His death on the cross and rose from  the dead in victory over death.

·        Confess (agree with God about) your sins that separate you from Him.

·        Repent of your sins (turn from sin to God)
