The Prayer of Agreement

Agreement is necessary in order to work together!

Amos 3:3 NKJV

3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

There is no way to even start when there is no agreement. Let’s go this way. I don’t want to. Let’s do it this way. No I want to do it another way. Nothing but strife when there is no agreement. Amos tells us the only way to even walk together is by agreement.

Agreement is having the same beliefs!

2 Corinthians 6:14 NKJV

14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?

Now I know this scripture has to do with having no fellowship with unbelievers and severing these relationships. But the same principle works in the prayer of agreement. If you’re believing God can answer this and the other person you’re praying doesn’t, then you can’t pray the prayer of agreement.

So we now see that we need to work together and have the same belief for the thing we are praying for. So what is the prayer of agreement?

God is a God of Agreement!

1 John 5:5–8 NKJV

5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6 This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.

God is Three Persons in One. God the Father, God the Son (The Word made flesh) and God the Holy Spirit. They are in full agreement as one God. Remember in the account of creation in Genesis

Genesis 1:26–28 NKJV

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Let Us three in perfect agreement. So when we agree in prayer the way God agrees, it is powerful.

The Prayer of Agreement is just that, asking with one voice.

Did you notice that Jesus shows up when there is agreement? Why? Because that’s the His Character. He is always in agreement with the Father and the Holy Spirit. So if we pray in agreement, God the Father hears and answers. Where is division, only strife is produced and God doesn’t operate there.

The Prayer of Agreement is Powerful!

Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 NLT

9 Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. 11 Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? 12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

Two or three praying in agreement is powerful. Circumstances can’t hinder the prayer because they can withstand anything together.
