Excited and encouraged to be wrapping up our Prepare The Way series tonight!
If you would, I need you to turn in your Bibles to Genesis 37:1-7.
We’re gonna be talking about a very important character named Joseph.
In this series, Prepare The Way, it’s important for us to be be curious about Jesus. It’s important for us to be on guard, ready, awake! If we are not prepared and listening then we might miss out being a part or playing an important part of what God is doing right now.
Let’s read about Joseph.
Genesis 37:1-27 here.
WOW!
Some things that got IN THE WAY of God doing something unique in Joseph:
his pride?
his family?
himself?
How did Joseph manage to stay prepared and loyal to God in the midst of such difficulty?
SUMMARIZE 39-41 HERE
The LORD was with Joseph - the LORD is with you. Genesis 39:2
day after day he would not listen to her - day after day Joseph listened to God. Sin against God matters to him. Genesis 39:10
TWO WHOLE years to remember Joseph // upon remembrance vv. 14 “quickly” Genesis
Joseph’s answer - “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.”
God gave something to Joseph at an early age. He was mistreated, overlooked, and forgotten possibly because of it.
What we learn from Joseph is what we know in Jesus. Joseph never lacked being prepared for the ways of God. Jesus showed us HE IS THE WAY of God.
Let’s pray.
