FOUR WORDS FOR MATURING IN CHRIST “JUST AS” & “CONTINUE TO” [COLOSSIANS 2:6] Colossians 2:6 6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, BIG IDEA OF COLOSSIANS: Christ is Supreme and Sufficient in All Things, Because in Him Lives all the Fullness of God in a Human Body and in Him Lie Hidden all the Treasures of God’s Wisdom and Knowledge, Therefore, Live Out the Lordship You Confess. A. Maturing in Christ Begins with Your Faith: “Just As” You Received Christ Jesus As Lord 1. All You Did Was Just Receive Christ Jn 1:12; Php 3:12 2. You Have Nothing to Brag About Eph 2:8-9 3. You Received Jesus Himself Co 3:4 4. You Received Him as Christ, The Anointed One of God Lk 4:18-19; Jn 6:38 5. You Received Him as Jesus Mt 1:21; Ac 4:12 6. You Received Him as Lord Jn 20:28 7. Have You Received Christ Jesus the Lord? Jn 6:35; 2 Pe 1:10; 2 Co 13:5 B. Maturity in Christ Continues with Your Practice: “Continue To” Live in Him 1. You Have the Permission to Continue in Him 2.
