Reconciliation and Justification are different. Justification requires no relationship. Reconciliation is a broken relationship that is RESTORED and functions again.

Ambassadors in that time were usually wealthy, entitled elites who had plenty of money and clout. They were usually chosen for their abilities and resources.

Ambassadors usually were reluctant because the responsibility was great and the consequences of their actions often were dramatic and greatly affected their own well-being and the well-being of the kingdom or city it represented. They didn’t want that position. It came with all the responsibility and little-to-no power.
