The Hubble telescope was focused on a part of the night sky that was completely black and left there for 10 days. What resulted was astonishing. In an area that was no greater than the size of a grain of sand held at arms length there were over 10,000 galaxies. This small area is equal to one thirteen millionth of the total area of the sky.
