Climax - the point in a chain of events where ones fortune changes.
It won't take as long as you think
2 Chronicles 28:1 KJV 1900
Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord, like David his father:
Made images to Baal
Burned his children in fire
Burned incense in high places
2 Chronicles 29:17 KJV 1900
Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the Lord: so they sanctified the house of the Lord in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.
Ahaz’ 16 years of evil undone in 16 days.
It isn’t going to take as long as you or others think.
God does do-overs. He undoes what was done.
He erases errors, rights wrongs and restors the years the enemy steals. He gives new beginnings.
In Christ we have power to rise above bondages, enslavements, weaknesses, bad parents, childhoods and environments.
God will restore years
Joel 2:25–28 KJV 1900
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, The cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, That hath dealt wondrously with you: And my people shall never be ashamed. And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, And that I am the Lord your God, and none else: And my people shall never be ashamed. And it shall come to pass afterward, That I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions:
Hezekiah’s Life - God will add years
Hezekiah told to set his house in order because he was going to die.
Hezekiah prays
2 Kings 20:3 KJV 1900
I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
Hezekiah Repented.
2 Kings 20:10–11 KJV 1900
And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the Lord: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.
God gave him 15 more years
As much as God loved Joshua and Hezekiah, they weren’t the Golden Children or the Heir Apparents. He saved Holy Spirit for us.
