“How I Got Over” series
You gave me verses / portions of Scripture that the Holy Spirit was using to help you get through this strange time we find ourselves in.
There is an overcoming power that is available to believers:
Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
We have to tell / testify / talk about how the power of our God in order to continue to help us overcome, get thru, & operate in victory!

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
The New King James Version Chapter 6
9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
INTRO:
2 simplistic, yet obvious things to point out about this verse:
If there is the command to “not get weary,” it is implied that getting weary is a distinct possibility!
Any sports fan, or a watcher of TV series, or even just a person who has a favorite season of the year can tell you that, by mentioning the word “season”, it indicates that there is the season you like/appreciate/enjoy/look forward to, and there is the “off-season”. Doesn’t matter how many OTHER seasons, if there is a season, there is the duality of “not” your season. If there is a “due season” then there must be a “DO” season.
The “DO” season is the season of actions: planting, cultivating, nurturing, working, waiting.
Paul has used this entire section of Galatians 6 to remind believers to stick with their obedience & commitment to living and working according to the example of Jesus Christ.
These commands would constitute a “DO” season.
THESIS: The benefits belong to those who don’t burn out.
The Tendencies of “Do” Season
The Tendencies of “Do” Season
“weary”= lose motivation, disappointed, discouraged, intimidated
Coupled with the phrase “do not lose heart” at the end of the verse, it it carries the admonishment to...
Do not become weary, don’t quit, don’t relax, don’t become discouraged
To get Tired
To get Ticked off
To Turn off
*Sometimes these happen in progression
The Timing of “Due Season”
The Timing of “Due Season”
Requires us to have some resilience, endurance, patience! We must make peace with God’s pace.
kairo idio - “at the moment of time that is exactly right; at the appropriate moment, at the proper time
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.
25 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.
19 By your patience possess your souls.
The Treasure of “Due Season”
The Treasure of “Due Season”
Reap, harvest = results, benefits, the ability to lay claim on the benefits of what was sown
Manifestation of promises
5 Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.
Isa9:3 talks about the joy associated with harvesting &
Law of the Harvest:
When you sow
More than you sow
Where you sow
After you sow
Because you sow
The providential payoff requires persistent patience.
The benefits belong to those who don’t burn out.
Don’t get weary
Take some “me” time
Do some things to recharge your battery
Ask the Lord to strengthen your spirit
Ask the Lord to extend your “reserve nerve”
Spend some time soaking in worship
But, whatever you do, don’t get burned out, because the benefits belong to those who stay faithful!
Our DUE SEASON is coming!
