Moses the man

3 Now the man Moses was very meek, more than all people who were on the face of the earth.

The LORD lifts up the humble;

he casts the wicked to the ground.

For the LORD takes pleasure in his people;

he adorns the humble with salvation.

I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ

Personal name meaning “drawn out of the water.”

Moses and Jesus had humble and tremulous beginnings as babies/toddlers.
Moses and Jesus had tempestuous times in the desert wilderness.
Moses’ faith and leadership led the Jews through the middle of death at the Red Sea, while comparatively Jesus leads His people through death to the promise land of heaven.
Moses ran from Egypt, while Jesus, with His earthly parents, ran to Egypt.
Moses was the mediator between the Jews and God, while Jesus is the only mediator between us and God.
At Mt. Sinai, God gave Moses the rules by which the Jews were to live, Jesus gave us the model by which we are to live.
Moses’ law gave the Jews the sacrificial system, and Moses sinned multiple times in his life, while Jesus lived a perfect life, becoming the perfect sacrifice for all humanity.

He renounced a royal court (Php 2:5–8; Heb 11:24–27); 3) He had compassion on His people (Nu 27:17; Mt 9:36);

Moses died atop a mountain near the promise land yet by the same saving power of redemption lives today as he was revealed alive with Jesus on the Mt. of Transfiguration. Jesus died on Mt. Calvary but was raised by the power of God to the victory of God and to the glory of God for the redemption and resurrection of God’s people.
Moses appointed his successor Joshua in Deut 31:7–23 , while Jesus appointed the church to be His successor until He returns for His church.

For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, 2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3 and all ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.
