Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote

Roadrunner cartoon by WB would come on and I would enjoy watching these cartoons with my family. The keep story line in this particular cartoon is the character named Wile E. Coyote which is a coyote that is trying to catch for dinner the bird, roadrunner called Road Runner (beep beep).
The Coyote always looks to have an elaborate trap for the Road Runner, but the Road Runner always finds a way to escape and the trap backfires on the coyotes in slapstick fashion.
Just as the Roadrunner was able to break free from these traps I want to encourage us that we are able to be free from the traps of our enemies.

Be aware of the visual traps.

Samson once again is lured in by his senses.
Judges 16:1 NLT
1 One day Samson went to the Philistine town of Gaza and spent the night with a prostitute.
Samson is not looking for a wife anymore it seems.
The appearance looks like Samson is only looking to please himself.
Samson also is going into the territory of the Philistines and antagonizing his enemies.

The enemy is looking for your weakness.

Samson’s weakness has put him within reach of the enemy.
Judges 16:2 NLT
2 Word soon spread that Samson was there, so the men of Gaza gathered together and waited all night at the town gates. They kept quiet during the night, saying to themselves, “When the light of morning comes, we will kill him.”
2. The enemy will lure you with bait to the trap.
3. You too need to know your weakness and be aware of the enemy.

Be careful because the enemy is not out to help you.

The enemy will seek to kill steal and destroy.
John 10:10 NLT
10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
2. Jesus is seeking to give us life.

What and/or who are you following?

What are you following?
Are you following your appetite?
Seeking to satisfy your sensual needs.
Seeking to enjoy the pleasures of life?
Who are you following?
Who is sitting on the throne in your life?
Aee you sitting on this throne and you seek to please yourself?
Is Jesus on this throne and you seek to please Jesus as your king and Lord?
The Choice is yours.
You should follow Jesus.

Samson is following himself

Samson was blessed by God to rule 20 years as Judge.

Samson rule is chronicled in Judges 14-16. However here judges 6:1-3 is a little mention of how Samson had relations with an harlot. This also reflects how Israel had eyes for others than the Lord and would break her covenant with the Lord.

Samson’s weakness leads to a trap

God blessed Samson with great strength.
The text does not tell us if the Spirit of the Lord came upon him to enable him to escape.
The text does let us know that Samson was strong enough to escape the trap of the Philistines.
Samson’s strength got him out of the trap.
Judges 16:3 NLT
3 But Samson stayed in bed only until midnight. Then he got up, took hold of the doors of the town gate, including the two posts, and lifted them up, bar and all. He put them on his shoulders and carried them all the way to the top of the hill across from Hebron.
Samson left ad midnight.
They planned to catch him in the morning.
Samson did not stay the night as they expected.
Samson took the Doors some forty miles away to the destination of Hebron.
The strength of Samson was able to deliver him by the grace of God.

We have the strength of the Lord to overcome temptation.

Let us not fall for our weakness but let us surrender to strength of the Lord.
The power of the Holy Spirit is our strength to give us peace for the glory of the Lord.
