Jacob the Deceiver

Jacob and Esau
When Isaac is old and blind, the time comes for him to bless his successor (27:1–40). He sends Esau to catch something tasty for a meal. After he has eaten, he will give him the special blessing which passes the promises of God from father to first-born son.
Rebekah has other ideas. While Esau is away, she dresses Jacob in Esau’s clothes, disguises his arms and neck with goatskin, and sends him to Isaac with a tasty dish. Isaac is suspicious, but accepts the food and drink.
Genesis 27:17–29 NKJV
17 Then she gave the savory food and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob. 18 So he went to his father and said, “My father.” And he said, “Here I am. Who are you, my son?” 19 Jacob said to his father, “I am Esau your firstborn; I have done just as you told me; please arise, sit and eat of my game, that your soul may bless me.” 20 But Isaac said to his son, “How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son?” And he said, “Because the Lord your God brought it to me.” 21 Isaac said to Jacob, “Please come near, that I may feel you, my son, whether you are really my son Esau or not.” 22 So Jacob went near to Isaac his father, and he felt him and said, “The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.” 23 And he did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy like his brother Esau’s hands; so he blessed him. 24 Then he said, “Are you really my son Esau?” He said, “I am.” 25 He said, “Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son’s game, so that my soul may bless you.” So he brought it near to him, and he ate; and he brought him wine, and he drank. 26 Then his father Isaac said to him, “Come near now and kiss me, my son.” 27 And he came near and kissed him; and he smelled the smell of his clothing, and blessed him and said: “Surely, the smell of my son Is like the smell of a field Which the Lord has blessed. 28 Therefore may God give you Of the dew of heaven, Of the fatness of the earth, And plenty of grain and wine. 29 Let peoples serve you, And nations bow down to you. Be master over your brethren, And let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, And blessed be those who bless you!”
By the time Esau returns, Jacob has received the blessing.
The blessing is unique and non-transferable. There is no question of Isaac taking it back. All he can promise Esau is a life of conflict and discontent. Esau resolves to murder Jacob as soon as he gets the chance.
But don’t get mad with Jacob and his mother Rebekah, because all she was doing was protecting not Jacob but the manner in which the anointing had to flow.
What do you mean preacher?
Well if we go to
Genesis 25:21–23 NKJV
21 Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of the Lord. 23 And the Lord said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”

A certain place

Genesis 28:10–11 NKJV
10 Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. 11 So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.
Jacob ran into a “Certain Place”
All of us have run into a certain place, for whatever reason we had stop living a normal life and because of our own personal sin or because of our own personal baggage or because of our own selfish acts or because of our own personal pains, we have found ourselves running.
Running from that bad relationship, running from that abusive relationship, running from the curses that people have put on us since we were children, running from that hurt that somebody who you trusted caused you, running from those friendemies, I mean enemies, who keep trying to bring you down.
let’s go a little deeper, maybe you running from the past years of rejection… Daddy didn’t love you, momma could care less about you… brother and sister jealous of you… family is after you all because you have a blessing that no one could revoke or take away from you.
I need you to look at somebody and tell them, “I’ve come to a certain place”
Certain place
I know you’re running from your past and feel like your time is running out and your panicking about life, can I tell you that God is tired of you running away to, so this is why He has allowed the sun to set in your life, so you can run into a certain place.
Why A Certain Place
Let’s look at the meaning of the word place.
Place means an open space.
When we look up the Hebraic meaning for this word “place”
It means a standing place (Maw-kome)
The meaning of this word doesn’t just mean, he came to a certain area, but it also means position.
Jacob in fear of his life ran away from his brother, to run into a certain position.
*God had to bring you to a certain place to show you, your next move
