What if a person were to watch “Titanic” without knowing history?
READ 1 Corinthians 12:1-7

Spiritual gifts (pneumatikos), “moved by the wind”. Not physical.
Two English words into one Greek word.
“If you don’t know the truth by now, you are at fault.”
These gifts reveal the Spirit’s activity within the church.
Complete contrast to mute physical idols.
There is an underlying joy in our school right now. Teachers and staff.
The work of the Holy Spirit makes the church peculiar in this modern age.
People can see what the Lord is doing within the community by the Spirit of God within us.
When people are in our midst, are they experiencing the influence of the Holy Spirit?

Paul places emphasis on the community as a whole. Each person has multiple gifts and often shares the same gifts with others.
There is a “distribution of gifts” within the church. (Romans 1:11-12)
These gifts displayed a true conversion from Jewish or pagan practices to Christian faith.
A baseball lineup.
God is not in need of us all seeking to have the same gift.
We are all different for a reason. The reason carries a purpose.
The church is pieced together by a God who distributes gifts by the Holy Spirit.
Stress piles up on the one who fights with their gift. Peace comes with acceptance.

Why was the church and its members gifted individually?
“manifestation” (disclosure)
Though all the gifts flow from the one God, Lord, and Spirit, the “manifestation” by which the Spirit acts is varied in each individual.
For each member
With a view in profit the whole body.
There is a difference in having an earthly talent compared to a spiritual gift.
The Lord has gifted us with the purpose of worshipping Him and blessing one another with our gifts.
You are gifted.
