DO NOT FORGET TO UNMUTE
It’s WEDNESDAY the 10th day of September
Good job to those who read in advance— and specially to those who wrote down their insights, impressions and inquiries about the passage that we are about to study — you may them and we will give way way for them when we come to our interaction.
Yesterday right here at “The Message” we saw what transpired when Peter led the process of replacing Judas— they sought God’s will on the process and from what they did we learned:
I MUST PRAY CONSTANTLY WHEN SEEKING THE WILL OF GOD
I CAN FIND MOST OF GOD’S WILL IN THE BIBLE
Still in Jerusalem, waiting for the gift promised to them by the Father through Jesus— The day of the Pentecost came— the were all gathered in one place, most likely at the upper room of where they were staying at
Let’s see what happened, open your Bible to ACTS 12:1-13, once you get there I’d like you to type, “Let’s see what happened at Pentecost”
CHARACTER, COMMANDS, CONFESSION, PROMISES, ATTITUDE, EXAMPLES, PRAYERS, THANK GOD, TRUTH TO BELIEVE, ENCOURAGEMENT, CHALLENGES
Read ACTS 2:1-13

1 On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. 2 Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. 3 Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. 4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. 5 At that time there were devout Jews from every nation living in Jerusalem. 6 When they heard the loud noise, everyone came running, and they were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken by the believers. 7 They were completely amazed. “How can this be?” they exclaimed. “These people are all from Galilee, 8 and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages! 9 Here we are—Parthians, Medes, Elamites, people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, the province of Asia, 10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, and the areas of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome 11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism), Cretans, and Arabs. And we all hear these people speaking in our own languages about the wonderful things God has done!” 12 They stood there amazed and perplexed. “What can this mean?” they asked each other. 13 But others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying, “They’re just drunk, that’s all!”

THEY SAW WHAT SEEMED TO BE TONGUES OF FIRE
Fire shaped like a tongue separated and came to rest on each of them
ALL OF THEM WERE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
You always hear me say indwelling and infilling of the Holy Spirit— well here it is!
Indwelling happens when a person starts to believe in Jesus— at the time of conversion— when an individual Accept that he or she is a sinner, Believe that Jesus came into this world, crucified, died, buried and resurrected, and Confess by their lips that Jesus is Lord— that is when the Holy Spirit starts dwelling in the person
Infilling on the other hand, is when a believer is empowered by the Holy Spirit— ACTS 1:8
These are two separate experiences— water baptism is the baptism of repentance— a believers external display of his or her internal transformation
What happened to them was a second act of grace— Keep in mind, that these are all believers of Jesus Christ— they are already Christians when they recieved the “infilling” of the Holy Spirit
BEGAN TO SPEAK IN OTHER TONGUES AS THE SPIRIT ENABLED THEM
It is the Holy Spirit that enables a believer to speak in other tongues [Greek Glossa | Strongs # 1100 which means tongues, language] — in other language
“Speaking in Tongues” [Greek Glossolalia] is one of the manifestations of the infilling of the Holy Spirit— What is Speaking in Tongues?— It is a spiritual gift that involves ecstatic utterance
Take note and remember that “speaking in tongues” may or may not be intelligible [understandable by another human]— The God fearing Jews who were at the Pentecost and heard and understood them— Look!
BECAUSE EACH ONE HEARD THEIR OWN LANGUAGE BEING SPOKEN
They were amazed that these Galileans spoken in their language— but in 1 CORINTHIANS 14:9
AREN’T ALL THESE WHO ARE SPEAKING GALILEANS?
They discriminated them being from Galilee— a far away, setback town
WE HEARD THEM DECLARED THE WONDERS OF GOD IN OUR OWN TONGUES
So they wondered at what they have witnessed— some even made fun of them and said, they were drunk

SPEAKING IN TONGUES IS A SPIRITUAL GIFT [1 CORINTHIANS 12:10]
This is an extensive subject— we will continue to look closer on the matter concerning “speaking in tongues” and Spiritual Gifts on Monday the 14th
