The Sin of Being Complacent:

Diagnosis: One of the worst things about a child being a Kidnapped is not knowing weather that child is dead or alive. Confidently, the worst thing a Christian can become is a able body vegetable, that has become kidnapped by the so-called society norms. So the Question of the day is are you dead or alive So-called Christian.

Introduction:

Gal 1:6-9 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse! (Hebrews 10: 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Background: Abandoned the gospel doesn’t mean that you are abandoning Jesus, it keep simply mean that you have decided to embrace a new theology or a new doctrine that goes outside the one that has been taught you. It doesn’t mean that you are not a believer, but it should make you question somethings especially your faith. In Galatia, they begin to embrace the circumcised narrative that had seeped into the church. Now Hebrews 10:25 has clearly gave us an instruction not to forsake thy gathering of ourselves, because in doing so in can have grave implications on us as individuals, and as a body. However, non-fellowship and many other anti-biblical imperatives have become apart of what society would call the new-normal, but in all truth there is nothing normal about them.

Lot in Sodom:

Which brings us to our main man Lot. Now Lot is very confusing character in scripture because of 2 Peter 2:7, in which Peter says that Lot was righteous and that his soul was vexed by all he saw around him. Now you would have to ask yourself how could Lot be righteous and his story seems far from that of anyone that is righteous. However, once you understand faith, and begin to understand that righteousness is only credited to you by God. So lets examine lots story quickly and see how we can apply it to our lives.19 Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and [a]bowed down with his face to the ground. And he said, “Now behold, my lords, please turn aside into your servant’s house, and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” They said however, “No, but we shall spend the night in the square.” Yet he urged them strongly, so they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he prepared a feast for them, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate. 4 Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people [b]from every quarter; 5 and they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may [c]have relations with them.” 6 But Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him, 7 and said, “Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly. 8 Now behold, I have two daughters who have not [d]had relations with man; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them [e]whatever you like; only do nothing to these men, inasmuch as they have come under the [f]shelter of my roof.” 9 But they said, “Stand aside.” Furthermore, they said, “This one came in [g]as an alien, and already he is acting like a judge; now we will treat you worse than them.” So they pressed hard against [h]Lot and came near to break the door. 10 But the men reached out their [i]hands and brought Lot into the house [j]with them, and shut the door. 11 They [k]struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves trying to find the doorway.
12 Then the two men said to Lot, “Whom else have you here? A son-in-law, and your sons, and your daughters, and whomever you have in the city, bring them out of the place; 13 for we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry has become so great before the Lord that the Lord has sent us to destroy it.”14 Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who [l]were to marry his daughters, and said, “Up, get out of this place, for the Lord will destroy the city.” But he appeared to his sons-in-law [m]to be jesting.
15 When morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the [n]punishment of the city.” 16 But he hesitated. So the men seized his hand and the hand of his wife and the [o]hands of his two daughters, for the compassion of the Lord was upon him; and they brought him out, and put him outside the city. 17 When they had brought them outside, [p]one said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay [q]anywhere in the valley; escape to the [r]mountains, or you will be swept away.” 18 But Lot said to them, “Oh no, my lords!19 Now behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your lovingkindness, which you have shown me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the [s]mountains, for the disaster will overtake me and I will die; 20 now behold, this town is near enough to flee to, and it is small. Please, let me escape there (is it not small?) [t]that my life may be saved.” 21 He said to him, “Behold, I grant you this [u]request also, not to overthrow the town of which you have spoken. 22 Hurry, escape there, for I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the town was called [v]Zoar.
23 The sun had risen over the earth when Lot came to Zoar.24 Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven, 25 and He overthrew those cities, and all the [w]valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26 But his wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 Now Abraham arose early in the morning and went to the place where he had stood before the Lord; 28 and he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the [x]valley, and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land ascended like the smoke of a [y]furnace.
29 Thus it came about, when God destroyed the cities of the [z]valley, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.
Although Lot became vexed, he was also a vegetable. Lot lost his wife and some of his kids because he chose to become comfortable with the uncomfortable. Lot made a life in a society of corruption ( Bring in Jasher speak on the lifestyle of the city and Refering to Ezek: 16: 45-52) God is telling Jerusalem through the prophet Ezekiel, that the have not only become complacent with abnormality they have also embrace it, to the point that they began to look worst than Samaria and Sodom. What sets us apart as believers in God is not just our love and mercy, but also I hatred for sin. Which means we should never become comfortable with the abnormal ___________________________________________

Two Verses to look At:

Zephaniah: 1:12 “It will come about at that time Proverbs: 1:32 “ and the complacency of fools destroys them That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And I will punish the men Who are [a]stagnant in spirit, Who say in their hearts, ‘The Lord will not do good or evil!’
I am not saying that we don’t believe that God will judge, and fact I assume many of you do. However, I am saying that there is a disconnect when begin wee to accept what society says as your face value.
There is nothing normal about not fellow-shipping with other believers ( But virtual church is now the new normal)
There is nothing normal about were mask that obstruct our breathing (But now wearing mask has become a new normal fashion statement; form Gucci to Macy’s, the mask has become a staple to our new normal)
There is nothing normal about over-sexualizing our children or passing laws that promote pedophilia, because Pedophilia is not normal. ( But we now accept this as a persons identity, and it is a new normal)
There is nothing normal about transgender-ism a man becoming a women or vice versa ( But using the correct pronouns is our new normal)
There is nothing normal about two men sleeping together
There is nothing normal about the inhumane treatment of human beings, we all one race.
There is nothing normal about slaughter of the unborn
God At Work:
However, what we do know is that the only thing that is normal about the abnormal is that God said that it will happen. Romans 1:24-3224 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for [a]a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed [b]forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is [c]unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing [d]indecent acts and receiving in [e]their own persons the due penalty of their error.
28 And just as they did not see fit [f]to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, [g]haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
Conclusion; Understanding that compliance should never lead to complacency. Most of all we should never let uncomfortable situations that God has allowed render us still and only vocally responsive, at some point mobilization, must take place and abnormalities should never be embraced.
