35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”
36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.
37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.
38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
The 12 were all in. Fear is real even in lives of those who are all in with Jesus
How much of God’s word is part of my life showed how I response when COVID hit
The path we are in is largely due to how much of God’s word is part of my life
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

But it is up to us to Decide who we are going to believe
(Hebrews 11:33-40) - If this was our charge would we say I am in?
Hero status of the 17 is not because of their natural ability but because of what God had done in and through their lives - Jesus is the hero of this story!
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’ ”
7 Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.
32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:
Gideon - Freighten farmer
Gideon - Freighten farmer
Gideon was a farmer and in his time did not know God and his works. The book of judges is this pattern of Israel moving towards the practices of the pagan nations around them and God giving them over to those nations and they crying out for help and
When we do what God asks us to do which is humanly possible in faith He will do what we can not do.
Barak - relied on a woman’s faith

33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.
37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented—
38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise,
Yet we have the promise already how much more should our faith be a persevering faith
40 God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.
Faithful shadows looking forward we look backwards because the promise is already fulfilled
1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
