Jonah 4
1. And it was exceedingly displeasing to Jonah and he was angered by it.
2. And he prayed to the Lord and he said “Oh Lord, Is not this what I said as long as I was yet in my homeland?(HAL temporal) for that reason I fled to Tarshish the first time be take my life because I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and great in steadfast love and relenting from disaster.
3. So then the Lord please take my life from me because it is better for me to die than to live.
4. And the Lord said, is it right for you to be angry?
5. And Jonah went out from the city and he dwelt to the east of the city and he made a booth for himself there and he sat under it in the shadow until which he saw what it (lit. what it would be in)would become of the city.
6. And the Lord God sent a castor oil plant and he made it to come up on top of Jonah to be a shadow over his head to save him from his discomfort. AndJonah was exceedingly glad about the plant.
7. And God appointed a worm in the dawn (lit. rising of the dawn) the next day and the worm attacked the plant and it withered.
8. And when the sun rose God appointed a scorching East wind and the sun attacked Jonah’s head. And he grew faint and he asked his soul to die and he said it is better that I die than I live.
9. And God said to Jonah Is it right for you to be angry over(about)?? the plant?
And he said It is right to be angry for me over death?
10. And the Lord said you are troubled over the castor oil plant for which you did not toil on(for??) you did not make it grow.which son of night(darkness) was and which son of night perished.
And should I not be troubled about Nineveh, the great city which there is in it a growing number from two to ten number of humans which do not know not his left from his right and many animal? (much cattle ESV).
